March is the time to renew your annual membership. At the AGM last year, we passed a resolution that all memberships will run from April 1 to March 31 to coincide with the fiscal year end. If you purchased a membership last fall or more recently, your membership will be grandfathered into this coming year. If you have not renewed your membership since the fall or more recently, please follow this link to purchase your annual membership today.

RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP TODAY!

Your membership enables us to provide compassionate care to those facing life limiting illness or experiencing grief from the loss of a loved one.

Our beautiful acknowledgement tree has grown new leaves! We have recently updated our tree with new names of donors. Thanks to Dan Wall of Wall Street Woodworking for creating this beautiful tree, and to all of our donors for your contributions that added leaves to our tree. We are very grateful for your support, thank you!

If you would like to have your name added to a leaf on the donor acknowledgement tree, and have questions about how to do so, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@seatoskyhospicesociety.ca

The residents of the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation Sea to Sky Community Hospice were treated to a beautiful performance of violin music by the very talented musician, Izumi Inoue. Izumi played on behalf of the Hospice Society to the delight of all of those fortunate to be in the audience. Thank you for your time and very lovely music Izumi!

Wishing you peace and joy this holiday season. The Sea to Sky Hospice Society office will be closed during the holidays, beginning Saturday, Dec. 23rd and opening again Tuesday, Jan. 2nd. During this time if you need bereavement support, please follow this link for helpful resources:

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT RESOURCES

We look forward to assisting you in person when we return!

The Sea to Sky Hospice Society had a booth at the 25th annual Brackendale Fall Fair this past weekend. A huge round of applause to the wonderful volunteers that came out to assist with selling many pieces of artwork as we worked to raise funds for the programs and services that are provided for free to the Sea to Sky Community.

There was a fantastic turn out of people enjoying the day, kids rolling in the hay, racing zucchini boats and sampling delicious food. We sold many of our donated pieces and enjoyed telling interested people about the art and the Hospice Society services.

A big thank you to AJ of Canadian Tire for kindly donating two big folding tables that provided space for us to work off of, selling memberships and displaying artwork. Thanks for your support AJ!

We’re having a booth at the Brackendale Fall Fair on Saturday, Sept. 9th from 10 am – 5 pm. We will be selling artwork to raise funds for our programs and services that we provide to the Sea to Sky community. Show your support by joining us at the fair and taking home a beautiful piece of art for your home.

Now is the time to renew your Sea to Sky Hospice Society annual membership. Show your support by purchasing a new membership or renewing last year’s membership now. Your membership gives you voting priviledges at the Annual General Meeting, as well as keeping you informed of any events and activities that are coming up. Our fall programs are starting up in September with drop in grief groups, evening bereavement walks, caregiver support groups, book club evenings and much more.

Membership fees are:

Annual – $20

Family – $30

Come out tomorrow, Saturday June 24th from 8am until noon, at Alice Lake, to watch Katie Coombs and the other swimmers of ‘Swim Wild’ as they swim in support of the Sea to Sky Hospice Society! All of the funds that she raises will go towards supporting the programs and services of the Hospice Society.

We are so grateful for this ‘third party’ fundraising initiative being done on our behalf, thank you Katie for thinking of us!

We are one week into our month of fundraising for the programs and services that we offer to the Sea to Sky community.  Join us today by creating a team in support of hospice or make a donation to help us reach our goal of $40,000! We are excited to report that the biking, hiking and running communities have all formed teams, and now the Squamish Seniors Line Dance Troop have joined as well! Get active this month in support of your Hospice Society!
