The 16th annual Hike for Hospice was a joyous opportunity to celebrate being back in person for the first time in three years! Thank you to our incredible team of volunteers who assured that it would happen and go off without a hitch.
The rain stayed away for the day and we all enjoyed a wonderful event. We were honoured to have Tsawaysia Spuknow Alice Guss of the Squamish Nation provide the opening prayer and drumming. Kriszti and Annie shared their warm up exercises and yoga poses to limber up the crowd before the walk. The fearless hike leaders led the two groups on two beautiful loops through the estuary and back to enjoy tunes by the talented Will Ross. Our wonderful team of face painters, Muff and Doug Hackett graced the children with beautiful butterflies on their faces.
Dean of Tim Hortons provided coffee for the volunteers to keep warm. The delicious samosas were provided by Jinder of Indian Masala and our beer garden was sponsored by Backcountry Brewing. Canadian Tire advertised the Hike for Hospice on their highway sign for all passing by to see.
Thank you for showing your support of our community. The Sea to Sky Hospice Society is so grateful for all that you do on our behalf.
We are halfway to reaching our goal of $35,000! With less than a month to go, please make a donation so that we may continue to provide the compassionate services and programs to those facing life limiting illnesses and those experiencing grief from the loss of a loved one.
