SUMMARY:Bereavement Support Group and Workshops
DESCRIPTION:This is a bereavement support group that invites in a range of speakers for six weeks of two-hour evening workshops\, to provide skills for the mourner. Guests will share knowledge and experience on various topics. Experienced volunteer facilitators will guide the group\, giving access to peer support while also learning together and building skills in navigating grief. Participants come from various grief experiences. \nSessions take place from 6-8pm in the 55+ Centre Art Room in Squamish\, every Thursday evening from May 7th to June 11th\, 2026. \nThis group has a maximum of 12 participants for each session\, and registration is needed. To book your spot in this free program\, please send an email to jody.kramer@seatoskyhospicesociety.ca\, or call our office at 604-892-6051 ext 5. \nThe Workshops: \nWeek 1/ May 7th: Anger and Grief with Jayne Rossworn: Why anger shows up\, and how to navigate it in ourselves and others. \nWeek 2/May 14th: Possessions with Anna Ovanessian: What do I do with their things? \nWeek 3/May 21st: Memory and Collage with Lise Hamilton: Exploring memories through art \nWeek 4/May 28th: Trauma and Grief with Shana Murray: Learning about how trauma and grief interact in the mind and body. \nWeek 5/June 4th: Labyrinth as Healing with Virginia Vaughan: Come and walk the labyrinth in this walking meditation\, and learn this self-soothing tool \nWeek 6/June 11th: Poetry and Grief with Ella Clute: Explore experiences of grief and loss through creative writing.
